CALL TO ORDER: At 6:30p.m.

ROLL CALL: Chairman Spierings, Supervisor Lutz, Supervisor Trzebiatowski, Clerk Lea, Chairperson Chris Kadow, Adam Maves, Carol Lea, Bob Lea, Duane Clark, Jim Wehinger - Rural, Linda Dean, Tom Kranig, Will Neeb, Corinna Neeb and Paul Cieslewicz.
APPROVAL OF MARCH 8,2018 MONTHLY MINUTES: M/S by Trzebiatowski/Lutz to approve the March 8, 2018 minutes. M/C. Ayes = 3
PUBLIC INPUT:1.) None
INSURANCE BIDS:Clerk Lea asked bids from Rural Insurance, Horton Insurance and Community Insurance. Jim from Rural Insurance was the only insurance company in attendance. Jim stated his proposal to the town board. M/S Trzebiatowski/Lutz to continue insurance with Rural Insurance. Then discussion took place on possible waiting for other companies to get their proposals into the town hall. The first motion was withdrawn. M/S Spierings/Trzebiatowski to continue insurance with Rural Insurance for 2018. M/C. Ayes = 3
LAKEVIEW LANE WATER ISSUE: Lakeview Lane has Town of Amherst, Town of Buena Vista and Town of Lanark that connect with each other. Chairman Spierings went to GIS at Portage County and Zoning and found out that the road was deeded to Town of Lanark. Much discussion took place on the water issue with many of the residents that live on Lakeview Lane and Town of Buena Vista. Town of Lanark needs to get involved. Between the three townships, they will shoot some grades and talk to Allen Trzebiatowski who owns land adjoining the road. The Town of Amherst will not raise cult de sac until water issue is fixed.
COMPENSATION OF MANDATORY MEETINGS FOR TOWN OFFICIALS: Tabled
GROUNDWATER REPORT:No report.
PLAN COMMISSION REPORT: 1.) No report due to no meeting held in March. Chairman Kadow met with Portage County Zoning for Kolodziej rezoning request which will be held in May.

BID FROM B&B PAVING ON CULVERT INSTALLATION ON LAKE EMILY ROAD: Specifications were changed by Kubisiak to B & B. Waiting on a new bid.
BRUSHING OF LAKE EMILY ROAD AND POSSIBLE OTHERS: Chairman Spierings will travel town roads to find out what roads need to be brushed.
ROAD REPORT - ROAD SURVEY:Will have to wait to check roads due to frost still in ground. Road Supervisor Trzebiatowski said to not order more salted sand for now.
HOSTING OF WTA PORTAGE COUNTY UNIT MEETING - JULY 23, 2018 @ JENSEN CENTER: It has been a few years since the Town of Amherst hosted a Portage County Unit Meeting for WTA. Chairman Spierings booked the Jensen Center for the July 23, 2018 meeting. Will plan menu at a later date.

TREASURER’S REPORT: Chairman Spierings read report. Town Balance is $4287,367.55 Municipal Road Loan balance is $61,650.87 and Property/Road Loan is $119,195.70. (Treasurer Bacon was absent due to the passing of her mother.)
