ROLL CALL: Chairman Spierings, Supervisor Trzebiatowski, Supervisor Lutz, Clerk Lea, Treasurer Bacon, Plan Commission Chair Chris Kadow, Marj Bachhuber, Arnie Seitz, Paul Chandler, Carolyn Chandler and Arlene Trzebiatowski .
CALL TO ORDER: At 6:30 p.m.
COMMENTS ON ORDINANCE:
Chairman Spierings opened the Public Hearing. Spierings then read the Public Hearing notice. Resident Paul Chandler asked what the motivation is for this ordinance. Spierings explained that at the annual meeting residents voted (8-5) to give the town board the power to appoint a clerk and treasurer position for the Town of Amherst. Since the residents advised the town board at the annual meeting, the town board decides if they want the subject to go to referendum which was approved at the July 12, 2018 meeting. This ordinance if approved will then go to referendum at the November 6, 2018 election. This will give all the residents of the Town of Amherst a chance to vote.
Many comments (pros and cons) and questions were made.
M/S Paul Chandler/Arlene Trzebiatowski to adjourn the public hearing @ 6:50 p.m.
